The Drinks Business names Symington 'Green Company of the Year'

We are thrilled to have won the Green Company of the Year Award for Adega do Ataíde at last night’s The Drinks Business Green Awards.

The ceremony was held at Home House in London, and the award recognises companies that have "demonstrated their commitment to the environment in changing and improving their business practice to better their carbon footprint. They will have improved their own direct impact on the surrounding environment and promoted this effectively to a wider audience, whether trade or consumer facing."

Located in the Douro Superior, Adega do Ataíde is our new low impact winery dedicated to producing our premium Douro DOC wines. It was the first winery in Portugal to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification, and the first in Europe to surpass 60 LEED points (the threshold for Gold certification).

We are delighted at this recognition of the steps we are taking as a proud B Corporation to lessen our environmental impact and secure a more sustainable future for the next generation.
